  • Ukulele Festival Returns to Dover!

The Southern New Hampshire Ukulele Group is holding their 8th annual ukulele picnic - “SNHUGFEST” on Saturday, May 11th, on the Rotary Arts Pavilion Stage at Henry Law Park in Dover.  This free, all-day festival features ukulele performances, food vendors, raffle prizes and more.  Bands are coming from near and far including the Unlikely Strummers, Amy Kucharik, Bette Machete and the Jumping Fleas, The Silver Strummers, Ukulele Strummers of Southern Maine, the Ukulidiots, the Desperate Strings, Uke Pitt, Steve Roy, the Ukes of Hazard, Amy Conley and the Kukuleles, and June and the Honey Badgers. The popular Grand Finale Jamalong will be led by Mark Anderson of Austin17 House.

The fun starts at 11am, with play-along jams all day, so bring your uke!  All of the proceeds support the Ukulele Kids Club.  To date, SNHUG has raised over $100,000 for the UKC, which provides music therapy and instruments to hospitalized children right here in New Hampshire and nationwide.  June Pinkham, one of the organizers of this event, states “This is a team effort, and we are all very proud of what we have accomplished to date. Bringing this joyful instrument along with music therapy sessions, to a sick child brings smiles and provides comfort to both patients, caregivers and families.”

SNHUG is an all-volunteer, non-profit group of ukulele enthusiasts, that meet twice-a-month to jam, practice, hold open mics, and generally have fun.  They're open to any and all levels of ability and can be found on Facebook or Meetup.com.

SNHUGFEST Sponsorship Opportunities are available through April 30th - snhug@outlook.com
This event is rain or shine.  Admittance is free.
