Two local community health centers will provide free breast and cervical cancer screenings this month for individuals ages 21-64 who have no health insurance or whose insurance that doesn’t pay for screening tests. The screenings will be done at Families First Health Center in Portsmouth on Monday, June 27, and at Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth on Tuesday, June 28. The summer season of living history events at Rollinsford’s historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House will start off with a bang on June 11 with “Matchlocks to Flintlocks,” featuring colonial-era musket drills and firings. Historical re-enactors in period attire will conduct drills and firings of muskets ranging from early 1600s matchlocks through the flintlocks of the American Revolution, along with other demonstrations of military equipment and camp life. Strafford County and Rockingham County gardeners are encouraged to plant an extra row of produce this summer for local food pantries. University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension is pleased to share that individuals and families can once again serve as food access champions by signing up for the Plant A Row Program for the 2022 summer!
