Dover, Rollinsford & South Berwick Lions Club to Serve their Famous Breakfast Sandwiches at South Berwick Strawberry Festival
June 03, 2026The Dover, Rollinsford & South Berwick Lions Club is excited to once again participate in the annual South Berwick Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 27, serving up its popular breakfast sandwiches while helping make one of the community's most beloved traditions a success.
Festival attendees are encouraged to start their day with one of the Lions Club's famous breakfast sandwiches before enjoying a full day of festivities, entertainment, local vendors, and, of course, delicious strawberry treats.
The Lions Club's involvement extends far beyond breakfast. Club members also volunteer during the festival's traditional "hulling party" pre-event, helping prepare the thousands of fresh strawberries needed for the celebration. On festival day, Lions volunteers will help serve the event's famous strawberry shortcakes and other sweet treats that have become a hallmark of the annual gathering.
Proceeds from the Lions Club's food sales help support one of the organization's most important local initiatives—its Eye Health and Vision Assistance Program.
"Lions have long been known as the 'Knights of the Blind,' and vision remains one of our core missions," said club president Catherine Allen. "Unfortunately, many individuals and families in our communities struggle to afford eye care, eye examinations, and prescription eyeglasses. We are committed to helping bridge that gap."
To date in 2026, the Dover, Rollinsford & South Berwick Lions Club has provided approximately $3,000 in assistance for eye examinations and eyeglasses for local residents in need. The club hopes to double that amount by year's end as requests for assistance continue to grow throughout the communities it serves.
Funds raised during the Strawberry Festival will help ensure that local residents have access to essential vision care services and corrective eyewear, improving quality of life, educational opportunities, workplace success, and overall health.
The Dover, Rollinsford & South Berwick Lions Club invites everyone attending the South Berwick Strawberry Festival to stop by, enjoy a delicious breakfast sandwich, and support a cause that helps neighbors in need see a brighter future.
