Garrison Players Arts Center opens the 2018 – 2019 Mainstage Season with an inspiring production of “The Shadow Box” by Michael Cristofer, and sponsored by D.F. Richard Energy, for three weekends starting Sept. 14.
Set in three hospice cottages on the grounds of a large hospital, this poignant and moving drama details the lives of three terminally ill patients facing their final days – and how the patients and their visiting loved ones deal with their situation. However, the play is not merely about dying or disease; it is about human relationships and powerful emotions – including joy, love and courage.
The play won the 1977 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. “The Shadow Box” is directed by Tracy Mullen Cosker and produced by Katherine Ferguson.
The cast includes Gwendolyn Goguelet, Josh Brown, Autumn Allen, Erin Farrell, Alyson Rachkoskie, Peter McTague, Ryan Lane, Shereen Allam, Tim Young and Glynn Cosker.
