Name: PCA - TEEN VAPING: What you need to know
    Date: January 31, 2019
    Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM EST
    Event Description:
KNOW THE RISKS. TAKE ACTION. PROTECT OUR KIDS. Portsmouth Christian Academy will welcome Laurie Warnock, NH Education Coordinator from Northern New England Poison Center, as she addresses parents with statistics and facts about this growing trend, the chemicals found in these products, along with the dangers and harm to the brain and body caused by using these products. Vaping and the use of electronic nicotine devices is the latest fad being marketed to our youth. Warnings in the news: “PUBLIC HEALTH Surgeon General Warns Youth Vaping Is Now An 'Epidemic'; YALE MEDICINE Your Teen Is Underestimating the Health Risks of Vaping By Kathleen Raven; and Surgeon General Jerome Adams issuing a rare advisory—the fourth in 10 years—from his office. “I am officially declaring e-cigarette use [vaping] among youth an epidemic in the United States,” Dr. Adams said “emphasizing the importance of protecting our children from a lifetime of nicotine addiction and associated health risks.” For more information, contact Tristan Agassi at admissions@pcaschool.org
