On September 21st, we'll lace up our sneakers and run or walk to raise money to support the families we serve! There will be water stationed along the route and the race will be professionally timed and announced. The top female and top male winner will receive a customized medal, and winners in each category will receive a ribbon! After the walk/run, enjoy awesome post-race activities and refreshments!!
This race is in honor of Lydia Valdez, who was and is to this day, the inspiration for Lydia’s House of Hope. After the tragedy of the loss of their daughter, the Valdez family gave a transformational gift to Seeds of Faith, which allowed for the creation of our transitional living program - Lydia's House of Hope. The Valdez family turned their tragedy into a legacy of love that lives on within the walls of Lydia's House.
Lydia's House of Hope is a yearlong transitional living program for women and children who have experienced homelessness, poverty, domestic violence, substance misuse, and unimaginable traumas. Our highly structured faith-based program provides families with case management, nurse advocacy, occupational therapy, mental health and substance use counseling, trauma therapy, and over 50 cycling life skills classes including parenting, finance, work readiness, nutrition, time management, and so much more! Our holistic program helps families to heal and equips them with the skills necessary to transition from 'homeless to wholeness.'
