"Hartscapes" Art Show & Reception at SEH Studios Art Gallery

SEH Studios Art Gallery is proud to announce the upcoming artist reception for Laura Gabel Hartman, an emerging oil painter, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM. The event is free to attend and will be held at SEH Studios Art Gallery, located at 456 Central Ave., Dover, NH.

The show runs September 3rd through 26th during gallery business hours: Wednesday through Saturday 12 to 5. Thursdays 12 to 7. Sundays 11 to 4. 

Laura Hartman, who began her oil painting journey in January 2024, has quickly developed a unique artistic voice. As an absolute beginner, Laura has supplemented her oil painting lessons with watercolor and drawing classes, ultimately finding her passion in working with oils. Over the past year, she has dedicated herself to longer painting sessions, often working for hours two to three times a week.

Laura's work is characterized by her fearless approach to tackling difficult subjects, often incorporating figures and architectural elements into her compositions. Her pieces offer fresh perspectives on mundane moments, such as the moonlight illuminating her living room or a rooftop conversation among friends.

Laura says of her art, “I just plunge in and make it and try to keep the making separate from the question, ‘Am I any good at this?’”

During the reception, Laura will give a brief interactive artist talk and will be available to mingle with visitors. This event provides a unique opportunity to engage with the artist and gain insight into her creative process.
