  • UKULELE GROUP RECEIVES “BEST THEME” AWARD AT HOLIDAY PARADE

The Southern New Hampshire Ukulele Group (SNHUG) received the “Best Theme” award for their float in the annual Exeter Holiday Parade held on December 6, 2025. Keith MacFadgen, SNHUG organizer, accepted the award on behalf of the group.

Hundreds of cheering onlookers gathered for the parade which was broadcast live by ExeterTV.  The entire downtown Exeter area was decorated with festive lights and the sounds of holiday music could be heard throughout the evening, including the happy ukulele tunes performed by SNHUG.

“We are thankful to the organizers of this amazing event, including Beth Dupell, who makes the magic happen, along with New England Truck Center for their contribution of the flatbed and driver, and Exeter TV for broadcasting the entire event,” said SNHUG organizer June Pinkham.

SNHUG was organized thirteen years ago and meets every other Friday in Brentwood. They are open to players of all levels.  Meetings include classes, workshops, jam sessions, and open mics. SNHUG performs at festivals and community events as part of their mission to give back to the community.   To date, they have raised over $127,000 for their chosen charity, the Ukulele Kids Club (theukc.org).
