  • The Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick receives funds from the Richard Goulet Foundation

The Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick (DRSB) Lions Club was pleased to accept a $1000 check from the Richard Goulet Foundation at their recent Business Open House.  The check was presented by Representative Kathy Gordon.

The golf tournament was held at the Links at Outlook Golf Course, in honor of Richard Goulet of South Berwick, Maine, who passed away on May 24, 2021.   Richard was District Governor of Lions District 44H New Hampshire and was the recipient of numerous humanitarian and leadership awards.

The award was accepted by Richard’s niece, Jennifer Laurent, who is the current club President.  “Uncle Richard is the reason I became involved with the Lions. I wanted to help resurrect the club and continue his legacy. He was completely dedicated to the mission of the Lions and motivated me to become involved in the community in the same way that he always was.  He was an inspiration.”

The funds will be used to further the mission of the Lions, which is the largest service organization in the world.

The Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick is a member of the Lions Club International, which began in 1917.  Their motto is “We Serve.”  The club gathers monthly to find ways to improve their community.
