First Seacoast Bank to serve as 2019 Apple Harvest Day Underwriter
First Seacoast Bank is pleased to announce that it has renewed its support of Apple Harvest Day, the Seacoast’s premier fall festival, scheduled to take place in the Garrison City on Saturday, October 5. The Dover-based community bank will once again serve as the festival’s underwriting sponsor.
“Since 1890, First Seacoast Bank has remained committed to making a positive difference in the local communities we serve,” said Jean Tremblay, First Seacoast Bank Vice President of Retail Lending and Apple Harvest Day Committee Chair. “While our name may be new, our local values are constant, and today, we remain more committed than ever to our mission and are proud to continue our support of Apple Harvest Day and this wonderful region we call home,” he added.
In 2018, more than 60,000 people attended Apple Harvest Day, which is now in its 35th consecutive year. Large crowds are expected again in 2019 as the festival will feature five stages of entertainment, over 300 vendors, two food courts and an expanded family entertainment area in Lower Henry Law Park. Apple Harvest Day covers eight city blocks from Third Street to River Street and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Apple Harvest Day showcases Dover as an economically and culturally vibrant community,” says Margaret Joyce, president of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce. “The chamber is proud to be the lead organizer of this signature event, but we certainly could not do it without our many volunteers and partners. For over a decade, First Seacoast Bank has been the largest supporter of Apple Harvest Day and we greatly appreciate their commitment to making the festival one of Dover’s most successful and enduring traditions.”
Apple Harvest Day begins at 8:30 a.m. on St. Thomas Street with the 11th running of the Apple Harvest Day 5K Road Race, which this year features a new route and a hard cider tasting courtesy of North Country Cider. At 9 a.m., First Seacoast Bank will kick off the festivities at the Rotary Arts Pavilion with Opening Ceremonies to include the Festival’s “first bite” and a performance by the Dover High School Marching Band.
