DOVER, NH – The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Upright Acupuncture & Wellness as a new member with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their offices at 251 Central Ave. Upright Acupuncture & Wellness treats modern-day issues with a proven medicine that has been refined over thousands of years.
The practice is owned by licensed acupuncturists and massage therapists Marielle Ceresa and Andrew Clark, who met while studying acupuncture and hospital medicine in Beijing, China. After returning to the US and graduating from the Master's and Doctoral programs at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, they started working in both community-room and individual-patient clinics in Manhattan and Brooklyn and eventually opened a private practice in Brooklyn. In 2019 they moved to Dover and opened Upright Acupuncture & Wellness, LLC.
“We are both trained in a wide array of acupuncture techniques, allowing us to fit the session to the specific needs of each patient,” says Clark. “Some people respond best to gentle care and some conditions respond most quickly to a stronger approach. The important thing is to find the right technique and treatment plan for each person.”
In addition to acupuncture, Ceresa and Clark have post-graduate training in herbal medicine, massage therapy and energy work, and consider each of these four pillars of Chinese medicine for every plan. Each treatment will often include a number of modalities. Among the many conditions they have successfully treated are low back and neck pain, muscle and tendon injury, spasm and neuromuscular disorders, postural imbalance, migraines and headaches, digestive disorders, addiction and craving, stress and anxiety, asthma, allergies, reproductive health and pregnancy related issues. They are also able to integrate with medical doctors to benefit the treatment of cancer and post-stroke rehabilitation.
To celebrate the opening of their practice in Dover, Upright Acupuncture and Wellness is offering $40 off an initial one-and-a-half-hour intake and treatment. For more information visit uprightacupuncture.com or call (603) 686-8069.
