  • Former NBT student accepted into Boston Ballet II

Northeastern Ballet Theatre, New Hampshire’s premier ballet company and training school, sends out sincere congratulations to one of their former students, Brooke Wilson of Dover, NH, on her acceptance into Boston Ballet II, a prestigious two year program of Boston Ballet Company under the direction of Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen and Boston Ballet II Associate Director Peter Stark for the 2021 -2022 season.

This program bridges the divide between training and professional careers with major dance companies. Dancers perform extensively with the main company, and in programs dedicated to works specifically selected and choreographed for BBII. BBII alumni make up more than a third of the current Boston Ballet roster.

Brooke Wilson started her ballet training at the age of 5, at Northeastern Ballet Theatre, under the direction of Edra Toth, former Prima Ballerina for Boston Ballet, under whom she studied until she was 13 in her home town of Dover, NH. In 2016 she was awarded 2nd place at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and was invited to the New York City Finals where she performed in the classical, contemporary, and pas de deux categories.

There Brooke received a full merit scholarship to train at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, PA. Brooke attended the summer course at The School of American Ballet (SAB) in New York City for 4 consecutive summers, 2016-2019, where she received a full merit scholarship. While at The Rock School, Brooke performed at the YAGP International Dance School Festival Gala at the David H. Koch Theatre. She danced as part of the ensemble group which won top 12 at the YAGP NYC Finals. Brooke also performed several roles in The Rock School’s
Nutcracker 1776 including Lead Spanish and Snow Queen. Brooke attended the Miami City Ballet School Choreographic and Spring Break intensives in August of 2020 before joining their Pre- Professional Division as a year-round student.

Northeastern Ballet Theatre wishes Brooke all the best as she takes this next step in her ballet career. Northeastern Ballet Theatre, with studios in Dover and Wolfeboro, NH, provides professional level ballet training for all ages, 3 – adult. For more information please visit
