How sweet it is! Spring brings blue skies, green grass, and bright yellow Peeps. The Dover Public Library is looking for creative Dover Peeps artists to enter our annual “Peeps Show” Contest this April.
Here’s how it works: Build a diorama using Peeps of any color or species in a standard size shoe box, no larger than 16” x 16” please. Create your diorama based on a scene from a book. The first ten entries will receive a free plush Peep chick!

Children ages 2 – 6 are invited to enter the Kids Division, and ages 7 – 10 may enter in the Youth Division. Peep Artists 11- 16 years old may enter the Teen Division, while those 17 or older are invited to compete in the Adult Division. On the back of your shoe box, please include your name, address, phone number, and title of your “Peeps Show”. All Peeps displays may be dropped off at the Dover Public Library beginning Monday, April 8 through Saturday, April 20. The winner of each division will receive a $25 Target gift card, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Prizes will be awarded on Monday afternoon, April 22. Peeps should be picked up by 5pm on Saturday, April 27. All Peeps not picked up by the deadline will be discarded or eaten!

If Marshmallow Peeps are not your thing, learn how to needle felt by making an adorable Peep Monday, April 8 at 6:30. Needle felted peeps have no sugar, don't get stale, and don't attract ants. This craft is simple and fun. We will use wool roving to create our peeps. (Roving is the result of cleaning and carding the wool from a sheep so that all of the fibers are laying in one direction. Roving is spun into yard or used in felting.) All supplies are provided. This craft uses very sharp needles, so it is limited to adults and high school students.
