  • Seaweed Mania! Virtually Delicious Edition with Evan Hennessey

On Wednesday, April 14 at 6:30 pm, the Dover Public Library and New Hampshire Sea Grant (https://seagrant.unh.edu/) will be hosting Seaweed Mania! Virtually Delicious Edition with Evan Hennessey. This follow-up to Chef Evan Hennessey’s popular Chopped event, hosted by the library in February, will feature one of his favorite local ingredients—seaweed.

Hennessey is the Chef/Owner of Stages in Dover (https://www.stages-dining.com/), and a three-time champion of the popular Food Network cooking competition show, Chopped. During the Seaweed Mania! event, Hennessey will be cooking live from the Stages kitchen, as he makes seaweed dishes ranging from complex recipes served at his restaurant to simple bites that can be made in your own kitchen.

Dr. Gabriela Bradt, a Fisheries Extension Specialist with New Hampshire Sea Grant, will introduce types of seaweed that can be foraged on the New Hampshire coast. During the live event, Bradt and Hennessey will also be available to answer your questions about collecting, purchasing, and cooking with seaweed.

To register for this free virtual event, go to the library’s online event calendar https://dovernh.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/seaweed-mania. If you have questions, please email d.lafrance@dover.nh.gov or call (603) 516-6050.
