Dover High School Ski Boosters to Premiere ''Romance'' by Level 1 Productions
The Dover High School Ski Boosters is excited to host the New England premiere of their 2019 movie “Romance” on Thursday, November 21 at 7pm in the state of the art Dover High School Auditorium Theatre. Tickets are available via the DHS Ski Booster Eventbrite, at the door, or by contacting the Boosters at email@example.com. $5 students, $8 adults, $25 family pack.
This high octane, high adrenaline ski-venture screening (the 20th in the Level 1 lineup,) is sure to thrill the stodgiest lodge dweller to the radical shredder. In 1999 the old sport of skiing had just been given new life, and Level 1 was conceived to document its progress into the future. With twenty years in the rearview mirror it still stands true- new things never get old. Romance, the final chapter of annual films by Level 1, captures a modern-day Golden Age in skiing. Featuring a generation of talent that came of age in the best time to ever do it. Tweaking the formula, tweaking the grab, and in it for nothing but the love. The movie was shot on location in Sierra at Tahoe, CA., Denver, CO., Montana, Idaho, Riksgransen, Sweden, Minneapolis, MN., Finland, Hokkaido, Sarajevo, Switzerland, Bend, OR., Mt Baker, WA., British Columbia, Quebec and Utah.
Raffle prizes donated by local vendors Philbrick Sports, Covered Bridge, Fire on the Mountain, and La Festa will be up for grabs. All proceeds will go directly back into the ski program to offset the cost of equipment, races and practice time.
The team is also happy to boast a local tie to the movie with Ian Leaf, son of DMS Theatre Director Jeff Leaf, as a prominent contributor to the final production.
The Dover High School women’s and men’s alpine ski team is gearing up for the 2019-2020 season. The Dover Green Wave competes in NHIAA Division I regular season sanctioned meets before competing in the New Hampshire State Championships this February.
Our program is designed to provide student athletes with an opportunity to excel in their academics while developing their potential as skiers and to foster their lifelong passion for the sport. It takes events like this and the community support to make all this possible.
While representing Dover, the team is excited to call Wildcat their home mountain where they train every Sunday throughout the season. This team of 13 women and 18 men are coming off a growth year and look to improve upon their overall finish last year of 13th and 11th respectively.
The team is run by Coach Steve Lent in his second season as head coach and lead by 3 returning Seniors supporting a young and growing team.
