  • Adventure Begins for Dover Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs

Join us at the Dover Public Library this summer to discover how “Adventure Begins at Your Library". Beginning on Monday, June 17, adults, teens, and kids can register at the library or online for the six-week program. Patrons of all ages have the opportunity to win prizes just by logging their reading time.

In addition to the reading challenges, there will be many events to keep the whole family entertained this summer. On Tuesday, June 18 at 6 PM in the Dover Public Library Lecture Hall, join us for an interactive showing of the movie “Up” for our Summer Reading kick-off party. Monadnock Falconry will give patrons the opportunity to meet a Harris' Hawk and see it on the wing, while answering questions about their life histories and relation to their human handlers. This event will be held at Henry Law Park on Wednesday, July 24 at 3 PM.

There will be special programs just for teens – tie-dying, Dungeons & Dragons, international snack tasting, a babysitting course, “Lord of the Rings” movie night, and take-and-make crafts. Adults can share their own travel stories and advice with us on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 PM during Adventure Presentation Night.

Finally, we will have a Foam Party on Tuesday, July 30 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM on the library lawn to celebrate the end of Summer Reading Program. Studios2Go will be joining us to celebrate in style with music, foam, and fun.

This is just a small sample of what the library will be offering this summer. Check out all our events on library.dover.nh.gov/events or stop in the library to get a brochure. All of our programs are FREE and open to the public.

Library hours are Monday-Thursday 9 AM-8:30 PM, Friday 9 AM-5 PM, Saturday 9 AM-1 PM, and closed Sundays
