Abi’s Place will provide homeless women in reocvery with safe, supportive housing as theyr transition back into the community. community “ describe Kerry Norton, founder.
Abi’s Place is named after Abi Lizotte, one of the original founders of Hope on Haven Hill. In 2017 Ms. Lizotte brought attention to the dire need for more residential treatment services for pregnant women desperately trying to become sober and start a better life for themselves and their newborns.
“ Abi worked tirelessly as an advocate speaking out against the stigma of substance use disorder. Her plight as a pregnant, homeless addicted young woman searching for services in NH was the reason Hope on Haven Hill was started, “ states Norton.
Sadly Abi lost her battle with substance use disorder a year ago, but her memory and courage will be honored by this new venture for Hope on Haven Hill.
“Today more than 50 women and their babies and children are provided with services from Hope on Haven Hills’ residential program and outpatient services, once Abi's Place opens 8-16 more families a year will be served. We also anticipate an expanision in our capacity to provide outreach services once Abi’s Place is open” describes Norton.
Local and national dignitaries will join Governor Sununu and the Board of Directors and staff and their more than 100 volunteers who helped prepare Abi’s Place for its ribbon cutting services this coming Wednesday, July 17 at noon.
