Design Engineer

Vishay HiRel Systems in Dover, New Hampshire, is currently seeking a Magnetics Design Engineer responsible for magnetics design focused on custom transformers, inductors and coils for use in military, medical, and aerospace applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with customers to design and develop custom magnetic components
• Provide technical leadership in the areas of electrical, mechanical, thermal and safety agency requirements
• Participation in design reviews including the DFMEA process
• Coordination of prototype builds
• Design verification including planning, developing, and implementing experimental test plans
• Evaluating engineering test results

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.)
• Work and/or school experience in the area of magnetics design and/or switch-mode power supply design
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills required
• Strong computer skills essential
• Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software preferred
• Experience with Ansys or other finite element analysis tools preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• The ability to travel is required
