SUMMARY:The Art Center to host Aaron Stanley’s exhibit Gravitas
DESCRIPTION:The Art Center will host an artist's reception for Aaron Stanley's exhibit Gravitas. Gravitas is an exhibit of kinetic art demonstrating physical principles of movement\, balance\, color\, light and shadow. \n\n\n\nSaid Mr. Stanley\, "It can be hard to find balance. First of all\, there are different types of balance physical balance\, visual balance\, spacial balance " His comments speak to the deceptive nature of his art. What appears simple at the beginning becomes increasingly complex the further one looks. Bits of metal or natural elements highlight the craftsmanship of the builder.\n\n\n\nExquisitely balanced elements of copper\, aluminum\, and found objects move in a slow-motion dance\, guided by the slightest breeze. And this dance is revealed on the walls behind the sculpture as shadows cast from halogen lighting\, reminiscent of dancers behind a screen.\n\n\n\nAs well as Aaron's kinetic art\, his unique sculptures and paintings will also be on display. Using a variety of techniques and materials\, he is able to evince the familiar from the unexpected.\n\n\n\nVisitors are invited to The Art Center for this reception\, which runs from 6pm - 9pm this Friday\, June 15\, 2018 Light refreshments will be served. \n\n\n\nThe Exhibit will be on display now through June 29th\, 2018.
