One hundred years ago, the United States was engaged in one of the most devastating conflicts in human history: World War I. Discover the stories of American men and women who served at home and overseas, and the impact of the war on the home front as we commemorate the centennial of World War I with1918: "Over There" and Over Here, a living history event at Rollinsford’s historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House on Sunday, May 27 from 10 am to 4 pm.
During World War I, the nation, its industry, the people at home, and over two million men and women serving in the armed forces and auxiliary groups overseas all struggled together in the mighty conflict. At this one-day event, historical re-enactors in period clothing will portray the military and civilian roles of the time. A wide range of artifacts from the war and the home front will be on display, and music and film footage from the era will be played throughout the day.
Admission to the event is $5 for adults; free for children and ARCH members.
