Heritage Walking Tours...

The tours have been extracted from a Chamber Publication Dover's Heritage Trails.  However, you do not have to be walking on the tours to enjoy the history of Dover, its residents, and historic buildings.

To help you experience and feel the rich heritage of Dover, we have selected three tours for you to enjoy at your own pace. The tours cover the old mill area along the river and downtown, the historic residential district, and Pine Hill Cemetery.

Tour A: Old Mill & Riverfront

This relaxing walking tour takes you along the Cochecho River, through the historic mill complexes, and through the revitalized downtown area.

Tour B: Historic House Tour

Take a casual stroll back in time and see some of the beautiful historic homes and outstanding examples of period architecture.

Tour C: Pine Hill Cemetery

The stories this cemetery tells and the history it reveals only can be seen and felt by strolling the 75 acres of unique markers, monuments, and gravesites.

Tour A and Tour B begin at the Dover Public Library. There is plenty of parking behind the library.
