Through the volunteer efforts of local businesses and professionals, the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce strives to advance the economic well being of our members and the community. Through awarding this scholarship, the Chamber is giving back to the community by supporting post-secondary education.

The Scholarship program is coordinated by the Chamber’s Education Committee, which has a mission to provide a bridge between the greater Dover business community and local schools and build relationships with the schools to ensure an educated, skilled workforce.

Scholarship Applicant Eligibility Requirements

  • The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce will award two $500.00 scholarships to two high schools or equivalent graduates. The program includes individuals who are returning to school for a degree as well as those just entering or currently enrolled in a higher education degree program.

  • Student must be employed by or have a parent/guardian employed by a Chamber member in good standing to be eligible to apply.

  • The applicant must be planning to attend a college, university or technical school with the scholarship being made payable in the second semester of enrollment upon receipt of grades for the first semester and/or registration for the second semester. The scholarship must be payable to the educational institution or a college or university book supplier for books and supplies.

The scholarships will be awarded based upon a student’s involvement in school activities, community activities and/or work experience.

  • What does my job experience mean to me? (Can include internship, coop, part-time, or full-time job)
  • What is important to me about my city or town and why?

Part D:

  • The applicant must include a letter of acceptance from a college, university or technical school.
  • All applications must be postmarked or received by the Chamber no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 2, 2008 in order to be considered.
